Pure Mediterranean forest
In some places of the mountais of Sierra Morena and due to the slopes, it was not possible grow olives trees so areas like this, near our cottage, Mediterranean forest remains pure. This area can be visited by the route of Peña Águila , this way communicated formerly the localities of Obejo and Pozoblanco. Today it is a route where, in addition,to have a wonderful panoramic views and a very diversified vegetation, you can see even trenches of the Spanish Civil War.
The area of Peña Águila is one of the few areas of pure Mediterranean forest that still exist in "Los Pedroches", constituting a vital refuge for the flora and fauna. You can see in the route many examples of rural architecture, mills, water mills, traditional cottages, rural chapels, etc. And for the inhabitants of the region is a place for the collection of asparagus, mushrooms, herbs, etc.
Although what stands out most at all is the tranquility and beautiful scenery.
